Jocelyn Maclure

Jocelyn Maclure is a Full Professor of Philosophy and Jarislowsky Chair in Human Nature and Technology at McGill University. In 2023, he was a Mercator Visiting Professor for AI in the Human Context at the Centre for Science and Thought at the University of Bonn. The book he co-authored with Charles Taylor, Secularism and Freedom of Conscience (Harvard University Press, 2011), was translated into German by Suhrkamp. His current research projects are in the philosophy of AI, social epistemology, and democratic theory. His most recent work has appeared in journals such as Minds & Machines, AI & Ethics, AI & Society, and Digital Society. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
