Responsibility for Published Contributions
Articles, essays, research papers, commentaries, reviews, and other contributions published by the Center for AI, Society, and Critique (CASC) or in the Journal of AI, Society, and Critique (JASC) reflect the views, arguments, interpretations, and conclusions of their respective authors.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, publication by CASC or JASC does not constitute an endorsement by CASC, JASC, the Editor-in-Chief, the editorial team, or any affiliated person of all statements, arguments, findings, interpretations, or opinions expressed in an individual contribution.
The respective authors remain responsible for the content of their contributions, including the accuracy and integrity of their scholarly arguments and, to the extent applicable, compliance with academic, ethical, copyright, privacy, defamation, and other applicable legal requirements.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that they possess or have obtained all rights, permissions, licenses, and consents necessary for the publication and distribution of materials included in their contributions, including third-party text, images, photographs, figures, tables, datasets, and other protected or personal material.
Peer Review and Editorial Review
Peer review and editorial review are intended to assess scholarly quality and suitability for publication. Neither peer review nor editorial review constitutes a guarantee that a contribution is factually, legally, or otherwise error-free, nor does it transfer responsibility for the contribution from its author to CASC or JASC.
Corrections, Retractions, and Removal
CASC and JASC reserve the right, where appropriate and in accordance with applicable law and relevant academic and publishing standards, to correct, amend, issue an editorial notice concerning, retract, restrict access to, or remove published material where there are substantiated concerns regarding, among other things, factual accuracy, plagiarism, copyright or other intellectual-property rights, privacy or personality rights, research integrity, ethical standards, or other legal concerns.
Where CASC or JASC becomes aware of a credible allegation that published material may infringe the rights of a third party or violate applicable law, the matter may be reviewed and appropriate measures may be taken.
